Why Choose Morning Star?

We are a small family-run nursery in Rochester, NY. Our two females, Minnie and Korra (both parti-brindles), are our pets. Our puppies are raised in a loving environment with positive socialization. Your puppy will take a “momma-scented” cloth home to ease its transition.

Our puppy line has over 44 champions and is exceptional in health, temperament, and snuggle-ability. They have excellent bites, legs, eyes, noses. None of our dogs have ever had a lasting health issue. The sire, Atticus, hails from Alfred, NY and is owned by Palmers Puppies. They have recently retired their website, but we are delighted to have had a wonderful relationship with their nursery. The line is on the smaller end of standard.

“When you receive one of our puppies, you receive our support. Our AKC puppies come to you with first shots, worming treatment (routine), vet papers, health guarantee, and we are always just a phone call away to help you with any questions. We work closely with our veterinarian and have relationships with other breeders who combined provide decades of experience.

The Sire And Dams

Zeus, our own solid liver stud, lives with a delightful family of 5 boys. He fits right in there and gets a lot of attention, care and love. He is very smart and obedient. (Stud service--$500)

Korra, our Momma Dam is a lively, fun Momma, who plays lovingly and cares for each puppy.

Minnie is the Grandma Dam, and she is retired. However, she is still very involved, since caring for puppies is her life calling. Nothing makes her happier than nurturing and watching over her grandpuppies.

Our Family

Faith is the primary owner of Morning Star Nursery. She adores her doggies and has been working with the nursery since 2008. She began the hobby nursery with her sister Charis. Faith is a senior in high school launching into a professional classical/contemporary ballet career. She presently works as an apprentice for New York State Ballet. She also serves at Grace Road Church and has used her time to help the homeless. Faith has been homeschooling, taking college coursework at Roberts Wesleyan College and Monroe Community College. She will graduate with highest honors. In her free time, Faith also provides pet services for neighbors when they travel.
Kelly is the delighted wife of Tom and mother of 5. She helps Faith out with the nursery. Presently, Kelly works as a home educator and administrative assistant in General Education at Roberts Wesleyan College. She also assists in Venture Village, an accelerator for Christian entrepreneurs seeking to develop businesses that engage in social enterprise. She serves in her church, Grace Road. Her primary work previously was homeschooling and homemaking. Kelly is a life-long learner and previously developed and directed a Christian classical homeschool academic cooperative.(This picture was taken during our 30th wedding anniversary trip).
Charis helped start Morning Star Nursery. Charis presently is a biology major at Cornell University. She had considered veterinary medicine, but now plans to become a physician's assistant. Charis adores all animals, especially her own Minnie, Korra, and their puppies. She often Skypes in while away to visit with the doggies.
Tom is a loving husband, father, and frequent dog-walker. Tom works as a high school physics and dual enrollment optics teacher. He takes an interest in refugee needs and all that his family does. He is an active member at Grace Road Church.
